For a more detailed description of combat stats such as Hit, Crit, Defense, Endurance, Evasion and others, please see our In-Depth Stats Guide. What Are the Four Stats Throne & Liberty? Throne & Liberty has four different main stats for your character. These can be increased by spending the stat points you gain when you level up. Some items of equipment can also increase them. Each of the four main stat impacts your character's other stats in various ways when increased, making you stronger. It's important to note that all four stats will give you a damage increase regardless of which weapon you are using, unlike some other RPG games where increasing Strength would provide little or no benefit to a mage, for example. However, the overall DPS increase will differ. This means that there is still a "best" option for your stats depending on your build, but even if you increase the wrong stats, you'll still get a decent benefit from them. We will now explain the four stats and how each one impacts your character when increased. Each stat gives a bonus per point invested in it, and also offers additional bonuses for reaching certain milestones, such as Strength 30, 40, 50 and 60. Throne & Liberty Stat Screen Strength Strength is a strong defensive stat, especially important for melee fighters who need to survive in close-quarters combat, or tanks who need to soak up large amounts of damage to keep their team safe. Each point you put into Strength increases your Defence, Max Health, Health Regen, Min Damage and Max Damage. In addition, you get the following benefits when reaching certain Strength Milestones: Strength 30 - Extra 750 Max Health Strength 40 - Extra 15 Damage Reduction Strength 50 - Extra 100 Heavy Attack Chance Strength 60 - Extra 900 Max Health Dexterity Dexterity helps to make your character more nimble and better at landing Critical Hits for extra damage. It is helpful for all Damage Dealers, but not so useful for tanks and healers. Each point you put into Dexterity increases your Max Damage, Attack Speed, Evasion and Critical Hit chance. Important: Notice that Strength increases both Min and Max Damage, whereas Dexterity only increases your Max Damage. So if you put all your focus into Dexterity without any Strength points, the base damage of your attacks will be less consistent and lower on average, but you'll have a lot more Crit chance. You get the following benefits when reaching Dexterity Milestones: Dexterity 30 - Extra 100 Critical Hit Chance Dexterity 40 - Extra 15 Bonus Damage Dexterity 50 - 5% more Move Speed Dexterity 60 - Extra 120 Critical Hit Chance Wisdom Wisdom buffs your mental prowess and is the traditional choice for spellcasters. Each point you put into Wisdom increases Max Damage, Max Mana, Mana Regen and Cooldown Speed. Once again, notice that Wisdom does not increase your Minimum Damage, only Max Damage. You get the following benefits when reaching Wisdom Milestones: Wisdom 30 - Extra 750 Max Mana Wisdom 40 - Enemy debuffs persist on you for 5% less time Wisdom 50 - Extra 5% Cooldown Speed Wisdom 60 - Extra 900 Max Mana Perception The fourth and final main stat, Perception heightens the awareness of your character. Easily overlooked by beginners, Perception can actually be a vital stat in Throne & Liberty and is helpful for a wide variety of build archetypes. Perception is great for spellcasters who need a stat to combine with their Wisdom to increase their Minimum Damage (instead of Strength), and it's also very good for support builds who want to put a lot of debuffs on enemies, or any other builds with abilities that rely on maintaining buffs on yourself or debuffs on enemies. Ranged characters also get a lot of benefit from Perception because stacking it high enough improves your Range. Each point of Perception improves your Min Damage, Max Damage, Hit Chance, Status Chance (Weaken, Stun, Petrification, Sleep, Silence, Bind, Terror, Collision), and your Buff Duration. You get the following benefits when reaching Perception Milestones: Perception 30 - Extra 100 Hit Chance Perception 40 - 5% increased Buff Duration Perception 50 - 7.5% more Range Perception 60 - Extra 120 Hit Chance How Should I Distribute My Stats? The scope of this question is a little too wide to give everyone a definitive answer in this guide. But we can give some general pointers in addition to those mentioned above. Some build archetypes have a very clear-cut stat priority. For example, a Tank is likely to want high Strength (for HP and Defence) supplemented with some Perception (for Buff Duration & Debuff Chance). On the other hand, a Healer can safely bet on Wisdom (for Mana and Mana Regen) and Perception (for Buff Duration and Debuff Chance). But when it comes to building DPS it's a little more complicated. Try to examine the strengths of the weapons and abilities you use, and play into them as much as possible with your stat choices. For example, the Daggers play very heavily into Crit, so if you're using them, then having high Dexterity makes a lot of sense. Dexterity, in general, is still useful to all DPS characters for its crit bonuses, but the more points you invest into it, the lower your Minimum Damage will be. So it's up to you if you want to stack most of your points into one stat or spread them out to get a more balanced build. Keep experimenting with different stat distributions until you find something that works well for you.
